SWIFT Service Bureau - FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I outsource my SWIFT connection?
Maintaining a SWIFT infrastructure is no small task - there are not only the initial investments into hardware, software, leased lines and employee know-how, but also ongoing changes in message formats and technology to be handled, as well as maintenance costs. As a long-standing SWIFT partner and interface developer, AnaSys possesses the detailed knowledge as well as the infrastructure. By outsourcing to AnaSys, you can be confident that all SWIFT-related tasks are handled by the experts and concentrate on your core business.
What about my banking applications?
With our hostlink interface, we are able to communicate with almost any type of application. And if not, we will build it for you at no extra charge. You can use the same connection over the Internet as for your browser.
Is it secure to transfer SWIFT messages over the Internet?
We use the standard 3-part technology, used internationally, for making Internet connections secure:
- https encryption, server-side SSL-certificate
- client-side SSL-certificate
- user-id with password
On our side of the network, we can guarantee astute security measures. Some responsibility always resides with the customer, such as frequent password changing, usage of long passwords, non-disclosure of user-ids and passwords, etc.
A leaflet "Rules and Guidelines" as well as a "Service Level Agreement" are made available to our users outlining these procedures.
Are you SWIFT-certified?
Yes, we are certified by SWIFT both for the compliance of our software, the AnaSys MessageManager and also for compliance of the service bureau (under "EMEA, Switzerland").
How reliable is your service bureau?
All our systems are redundantly available, our SWIFT and Internet lines are doubled by different carriers and we back up our data many times every day. Our complete environment is in climatised and isolated data centres. And, as a certified SWIFT service bureau, we are audited by SWIFT themselves.
How can I control/monitor my SWIFT environment?
With our web interface, which gives you the full control over all transactions and user activities.
Do you use SWIFT Alliance?
No. AnaSys has been providing their own SWIFT interface for over 10 years, the MessageManager®. From this experience, we have the knowledge to give you the best possible service on all aspects of SWIFT.
Do I have to install any software?
Users must have a newer generation browser installed (Internet Explorer 5 upwards), which is the case anyway in most companies. Your administrator will receive instructions from us, how to install the client-side SSL-certificate which we deliver to you. With the browser, all monitoring, data-handling and administration can be done - no further installation needed (no applets, no programs). If you require an automated link to your internal software, then you need to install a simple program on your side, which we will deliver to you. This program will also permit you to automatically print messages on an internal printer on your network.
Do I have to join SWIFT and get my own BIC/BEI?
Yes. The service bureau provides access only to registered users having their own BIC (bank identifier code) or BEI (business entity identifier).
I don't want to or can't register with SWIFT. Can you sublet a BIC to me or assign me a BIC?
No, sorry. You must join SWIFT or find a SWIFT participant to sponsor you (e.g. if you are a corporate holding an account with a SWIFT participant or you are a correspondent non-SWIFT bank of a SWIFT participant). AnaSys does not have banking status and can't sponsor you.
How do I register with SWIFT in order to connect via the AnaSys Service Bureau?
Please contact us. We will guide you through the registration process.
